
Dr. María Díaz Santos
She holds a PhD in Urban and Environmental Studies from El Colegio de México, a Master’s in Social Sciences from FLACSO Mexico, and a Bachelor’s in Sociology from UNAM. She is a Candidate-level member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) and currently serves as a Water Technologist at the Mexican Institute of Water Technology (IMTA–Semarnat), where she supports water transition and innovation processes. Her master’s thesis received the international first-place award from the WaterLat-Gobacit Network. She is an active member of Secihti, Red-ISSA, and WaterLat-Gobacit, and her work has advanced social-science approaches to water and environmental challenges. Her expertise includes water justice, socio-hydrological vulnerability, critical water culture, and gender- and intersectionality-based perspectives, with a focus on the experiences of women and children.Dr. Julián Esparza Romero
